help haiti by donating to the red cross

hey kids,

I know I haven’t been posting much as this is my fourth post but I have been busy with work, family, work, work, and the occasional/ random going out to enjoy myself.

Within the time frame of my last post and this one, we all know of the disastrous earthquakes that have devastated Haiti. The People of the Caribbean island need our help in every way as thousands of individuals have lost their belongings, families, and homes.

We must donate to the red cross and other legitimate charitable organizations to help these people out so they can survive.

I watched a few of the news channels last night and noticed that people were adopting the orphaned children that were arriving here in America. If I could do such a thing i definitely would but I couldn’t financially afford to do something like that.

However, I can afford to donate to the American Red Cross by simply sending a text message to 90999.

I designed the above picture to show some graphic design support and when I got home last night, I decided to check out designinformer.com which is what I check every now and then for different postings to help stimulate my mind designing brain with tutorials, articles, some free fotochop brushes or some vector art. I checked out this article: http://designinformer.com/help-haiti-designers-getting-involved/ and really wish i would have known about this before i designed… i think it would have led me to design something a little bit stronger. Which I believe that I will and when I do, I will post it to my flickr account and also post it on the facespace as well as mybook. Oh, I can’t forget posting it on here

Anyways, please help the people of Haiti out and donate as little as $1, a bottle of water, or whatever you can because every little thing counts.

conan being sacrificed for jay leno

ok, so i just heard the report that jay leno is going to possibly be moving from his 1000pm spot back to 1130pm and giving conan the boot….

now, jay leno has some funny material here and there and had we (anyone born 1982 and on) checked out jays comedy from when he was just s stand up comic, we would realize how funny jay really is.

i honestly don’t think that he will boost ratings again by moving to the 1130 spot. conan is a funny guy and leno, in my eyes, is becoming a stale piece of bread that shouldn’t really be on air anymore

had jay leno stepped up his act and actually did something much more similar, to his old stand up days, i would definitely be much more inclined to check out what he is broad casting.

sorry for the short rant. just thought i should express what i feel.

i just added a quick theme to my b-log to give it a little bit of taste so it wouldn’t be so stale

i also just uploaded two images that i had tweaked onto flickr. i am going to upload more pictures of designs that i have worked on (some in their original state prior to editing them for the clients )

a quick introduction

my name is rick, everyone calls me big rick because I am of the larger mass standing at 6’4″ and i weigh a little more than your average person.

although I have been told I look like I am a mean person, I am actually an easygoing, fun-loving person that likes to get out and enjoy life. i love to hang out with old friends, new friends, meet new people and have a laugh.

although i am a larger person, i do like to get out and have myself a surf, a skate, a run, or a bike ride.

sometimes i just like to walk around, listen to music, take pictures of random things that nature provides… and i like to take pictures of the man-made things too… anything and everything that i can while i have my camera by my side.

on the professional level, i am a graphic designer for a company called alive prints. we are a marketing, design, and printing company with lots to offer.

other than that, i like good food, good beer, and good people…. the finer things in life

as i post, you will find out more about me and my likings. i don’t know how personal i will get with this BUT i do know that you will definitely know whats on my mind
